'Umrah begins with declaring the state of Ihram from the Miqat then circumambulating the Sacred House in seven rounds observing the same rules . After that, the pilgrim should perform Sa'y between the Safa and Marwah seven times Sa'i begins from Safa and ends at Marwah and not vice versa The Muhrim is expected to walk between Safa and Marwah until he reaches the two green markers then it is preferred that he jogs (walks fast) between these two points. Needless to say, this applies to male pilgrims only who should follow the Sunnah in Ramal (jogging with close firm steps) . Then he should shave or clip his hair short. When he reaches this stage, he has performed 'Umrah.
